NC Honors Orchestra - November 2020



For those with students present at NC All State Auditions as well as students who participated in the WRO/ERO,

please encourage your students to audition for the NC Honors Orchestra in November.

It's a great experience with wonderful repertoire. 


NOTE:

Students MUST audition using the 2019-2020 11/12 All State Band Scales and Solo Requirements.

There is no sight-reading.



NOTES: 
  • Directors must be present in the video for the initial announcement and can move out of the shot for the remainder of the video, but the entire audition should be completed in one take. 
  • Instruments eligible are: Flute, Oboe, Bassoon, Clarinet, Trumpet, Horn, Trombone, Tuba, Snare, Mallets and Timpani
  • Students MUST audition using the 2019 - 2020 11/12 All State Band Scales and Solo Requirements. There is no sight-reading. 
  • Percussion Requirements
    Section Percussion:
      • Solo - rotation found on the NC Bandmasters website
      • Section Percussion Etude - rotation found on the NC Bandmasters website under scale requirements
    Mallets:Timpani:
      • Long roll - pp-ff-pp
      • Tuning:
        • Minor 3rd
        • Perfect 5th
        • Minor 7th
      • Solo - rotation found on the NC Bandmasters website


Students qualify to audition via two ways:


1) Participate in either the Western or Eastern Regional Orchestras

2) Audition for the NC All State Band (Student(s) did not need to get into the ASB to qualify. All students who

auditioned on Saturday, March 7th, qualify.)


You can simply print out the scripts attached to the e-mail and video record the student's entire solo and all of the required scales. Then, upload that file to either YouTube or a Google drive with the ability for ANYONE with the link to be able to view. 


Then, fill out the form below, copy and paste the link to their audition in the form and you're good to go! 



The deadline to submit auditions is midnight on Sunday, June 28, 2020.
