T. C. Roberson High School
Michael Wilson currently completed his 30th year of teaching in North Carolina, the past 18 years at T. C. Roberson High School in Asheville, NC. Prior to Roberson he taught at Andrews, Robbinsville, and Brevard High Schools and Middle Schools. During his career his concert bands performed at The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, Orchestra Hall in Chicago and Atlanta, and the Segerstrom Performing Arts Center in Orange County, CA. His concert bands received numerous superior ratings at the NC MPA events. His marching bands participated in many contests throughout North and South Carolina and parades in Atlanta, Chicago, Disney World, Gatlinburg, and Asheville. His students also participated in county, district and state bands. He has held offices at the district and state level, currently serving as Past-President of NCBA. A native of Burnsville, NC and graduate of Mountain Heritage HS, he holds a Bachelor of Music degree in music education from Mars Hill University and a Master of Science degree in music education from the University of Illinois. He holds membership in NCMEA, NCBA, and ASBDA. After 30 years of teaching, Mr. Wilson retired on July 1, 2015.
